Free AI Video Generators!
With AI video generators like Sora still in limited access, content creators are looking for free alternatives they can use right now. Two promising options are Pixverse and Haiper AI. But which one produces better AI-generated videos?
In this post, we’ll take a deep dive into both platforms, exploring their features and putting them head-to-head with real examples. By the end, you’ll know which free AI video generator may work best for your needs.
The Key to Better AI Videos: Start With Quality Images Before we get into the platforms themselves, an important tip: For optimal AI video quality, it’s best to start with an already-generated high-quality image rather than going straight from text prompts.
This image was created with the prompt “A cat dressed as an astronaut, floating in space, [digital illustration, modern], [starry background, Earth in the distance, hues of blue and black].” using Stable Diffusion. See how detailed and visually striking it is?
In contrast, here’s what happened when I fed that exact same text prompt directly into an AI video generator – the quality and coherence drops dramatically.
Why does this matter? Because if you first create an image you’re happy with in a tool like Stable Diffusion, then use that image as the input for the AI video generator, you gain much more control over the final video output.
With that in mind, I compiled a set of Stable Diffusion images in a 16:9 aspect ratio to test with Pixverse and Hyper AI.
Pixverse Free AI Video Generator
Introducing Pixverse AI Pixverse is one of the user-friendly free AI video generator tools available. After signing up, you can create videos by uploading images or using text prompts.
For image inputs, key features include:
- Ability to add a “positive prompt” to guide the generation
- Adjustment for motion strength
- Generate in HD quality mode
- Option to upscale/enhance generated videos later
Pixverse lets you create up to 4 videos at a time, each around 4 seconds long, though generation can be quite slow.
Here are some example Pixverse video outputs using the images we created earlier as the inputs:
Overall, Pixverse provides a good amount of control during the generation process. The upscaling feature is also a nice added benefit.
Haiper AI Video Generator FREE!
haiper AI: A Competitive Free Option haiper AI is another free AI video generator with some unique advantages. Like Pixverse, it supports image-to-video creation as well as text prompts.
Current key features include:
- Option to keep videos private
- Set custom seed values
- Repaint and extend videos (coming soon)
While haiper AI is missing an upscaling tool like Pixverse has, generations seemed to complete faster. You can also generate an unlimited number of videos at once, with just a short 10-second wait between each.
The only significant limitation I found was haiper AI’s 2-second maximum video length (4 seconds is listed as “coming soon”).
Here are some examples using the same image inputs on haiper AI:
To compensate for the 2-second limit, I tried slowing down the haiper AI videos by 50% to fake a 4-second duration:

Pixverse Vs Haiper AI
While not a perfect solution, this does allow for a more equal comparison to the 4-second Pixverse outputs.
Side-by-Side Comparison So which free AI video generator reigned supreme? In my testing, Pixverse seemed to produce slightly more coherent and naturalistic videos overall. However, haiper AI is a very capable free alternative, especially once 4-second generations are enabled.
Ultimately, both Pixverse and haiper AI offer quality free AI video creation with different strengths. I’d recommend trying out each platform yourself to see which better fits your use case and workflow preferences.
Start Creating AI Videos Today While super-hyped AI video tools like Sora are still hard to access, there are excellent free options available right now in Pixverse and haiper AI. With some high-quality base images and a bit of experimenting, you can be creating stunning AI-generated videos to enhance your content.
