stable diffusion full body prompt
Have you ever tried getting Stable Diffusion to generate a nice full body image, only to end up with weird floating body parts? I’ve definitely been there. Getting SD to render a cohesive full body image can be tricky, but after scouring the internet I’ve picked up some useful tips. Let me share what I’ve learned!
First things first – be explicit in asking for a full body shot! Don’t just say “portrait”, say “full body portrait” or “full length image”. Putting this right at the front of your prompt helps make it clear to SD exactly what you’re looking for.
If you’re generating a specific person, also describe their full outfit – shoes, pants, shirt, accessories, etc. SD does a surprisingly good job at “filling in the blanks” when you provide anchoring details like this. Leaving body parts undescribed often leads to randomness or getting cut off.
Consider the pose and setting too. Dynamic prompts like “walking through a forest” or “dancing on stage” encourage a full body more naturally than static poses. The background details also “force” SD to situate the whole person.
Play with your image dimensions too. A wider aspect ratio like 2:3 gives SD more canvas area to fit the entire body in frame. The standard 1:1 square crops easier.
And don’t be afraid to reroll if your first few attempts don’t pan out! Generating full bodies reliably takes some fine tuning. Experiment with slight prompt variations and seeds. Study the partial hits for clues on consistency.
Once you find a solid starting point, you can build on it for endless prompt ideas. I like to establish a working full body template first, then tweak it for alternate outfits and scenarios. The possibilities are endless!
I hope these tips help you generate stunning full body portraits with SD. Let me know if any other tricks have worked for you! Now get creating and have fun bringing complete characters to life.
The new way to get full body shots with stable diffusion
The above way was a cool way to get full body shots using stable diffusion back in the beginning of 2023. However, we are almost into 2024 and boy has times changed.
Now, with stable diffusion XL 1.0 models simple prompts like “full body shot” works perfectly fine.
For example:

Using Control Net For Stable Diffusion Full Body prompt
Above was as simple as using “full body shot” into a prompt. However, that works fine with newer models like stable diffusion XL. But what about if we wanted more control over the image? That’s where control net kicks in.
Using control net with a strong “Stable Diffusion Full Body prompt” will yield even better results.
one very easy method you can use to force poses in any style is by using 3D modeling.
Let me show you how.
I cover this technique in my video called “10 Shocking Stable Diffusion Secrets Revealed: Boost Your Images Now!”
However, if you don’t want to watch the video here is the written guide.
step 1:
Go to https://www.mixamo.com/ and take a screenshot of a 3D model in your preferred pose like this:

above is the screenshot taken from mixamo.
Step 2:
Launch stable diffusion and make sure to have control net installed. Now load your screenshot from step 1 into control net and use the open pose model like this:

Step 3:
Now set your prompt like this “cyborg, full body shot” or use any prompt you want just be sure to use a modifier such as “full body shot” just to help guide it. Although not necessary just best practice.

this was the results using control net for full body shots and stable diffusion.
so as you can see, stable diffusion full body prompts isn’t necessarily needed as we get closer to 2024 and extensions like controlnet and newer stable diffusion models like the XL1.0 models.
